About the Role:
Fortress Recruitment is working in partnership with Haringey Council to recruit an experienced Curriculum Manager – ESOL for an interim assignment of 3 to 6 months.
This is a key leadership role within the Adult & Community Learning Service, responsible for leading and managing the ESOL curriculum area. You will ensure the ongoing delivery of high-quality learning, while developing and overseeing an innovative, responsive, and quality-assured ESOL curriculum offer that meets the needs of learners, aligns with council priorities, and satisfies funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the ESOL curriculum area team to maintain high standards in adult and community learning.
Develop and deliver a creative and innovative ESOL curriculum that aligns with local needs, funder priorities, and Haringey Council’s strategic objectives.
Ensure the ESOL provision supports learners to develop skills for active citizenship, community engagement, and employment.
Oversee the effective delivery of AEB-funded provision, ensuring full compliance with funding rules.
Drive continuous quality improvement, ensuring the curriculum aligns with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) requirements.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to adapt and evolve the curriculum in response to local, regional, and national priorities.
Monitor performance, drive learner outcomes, and embed service improvement processes into all aspects of delivery.
About You:
✅ Extensive experience in ESOL curriculum leadership within adult and community learning.
✅ Strong understanding of AEB funding and compliance requirements.
✅ Proven track record in curriculum development, quality assurance, and leadership.
✅ A creative thinker with the ability to design innovative learning solutions that support social inclusion and employment outcomes.
✅ Skilled in aligning curriculum delivery with wider council strategies, community needs, and national education priorities.
✅ Immediate availability to step into a leadership role and deliver from day one.

We need someone who can immediately lead on the effective delivery of ESOL provision, ensuring that the curriculum offer meets the needs of: local residents, council priorities, regional agendas and national strategies and is driven by service quality improvement processes, creative curriculum design and will support the continual improvement in the quality of education, whilst monitoring, developing and ensuring the curriculum offer meets the requirements on the Education Inspection Framework.
