Overview of responsibilities: – To chair Looked After Children’s Reviews and to act as Duty Child Protection Chair as and when required. – To ensure that the Local Authority delivers good outcomes for children who are subject to child protection plans or those who are Looked After. – To ensure that statutory obligations and directorate procedures are met and followed. – To enable children and young people to express their views in appropriate settings and to ensure that the voice of the child is incorporated within their care plan. – To monitor the quality and progress of children’s care plans, and to challenge practice that does not meet required national and local standards using the appropriate monitoring and escalation protocols. Experience required: – Minimum of five years post-qualification experience working in statutory Children’s Services – Experience of management/supervision within children’s services – Experience of effectively chairing statutory meetings within children’s services. – Experience of managing performance, setting and monitoring standards and challenging poor practice
