Role Overview

Camden Council is seeking a proactive and organised Project Supervisor – Recycling to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of NLWA’s contamination reduction and recycling education initiatives.

The role involves supervising the recycling advisor team, managing project schedules, analysing engagement data, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of recycling programmes across North London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of NLWA’s Contamination Reduction and Recycling Education Plan.

  • Organise and supervise the Recycling Advisor team, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.

  • Collect, analyse, and present data (e.g. household engagement, service uptake, recycling behaviours) to inform decision-making.

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of engagement campaigns, events, and communication activities.

  • Liaise with internal teams such as Communications, IT, Operations, and external partners to ensure milestones are achieved.

  • Prepare progress reports, updates, and summaries for senior management.

  • Manage daily and weekly schedules to ensure delivery of project objectives.

  • Support trials, pilots, and service evaluations, reporting outcomes and recommendations.

  • Identify and escalate operational issues promptly, contributing to service improvements.

  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade to support wider waste and recycling initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in project coordination, environmental services, or waste management.

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage small teams.

  • Data-driven approach — confident in monitoring progress and presenting findings.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to work across multiple teams and meet project deadlines.

  • Knowledge of recycling, contamination reduction, and sustainability initiatives desirable.

  • IT-literate with experience using MS Office and reporting systems.
